Climbing is dangerous! Every year many climbers are broken, maimed, and killed. Don't be so foolish as to trust your life to what you see here. I'm not a guide and neither is this web site. If you don't know what you are doing or where you are going, please take a course or hire a guide!

Fuhrer Finger

June ??, 1997

In the Spring of 1997 I made an attempt on this route. By that May I had already climbed Gibraltar Ledges on Rainier, recovered from a knee injury, and climbed Casaval Ridge on Mt. Shasta. I was feeling quite full of myself, and with bomber weather I figured this would be a cruise. What ended up happening was a great example of how this mountain can reach out and put the touch on anyone, any time, and that pride goeth before the fall.
