Fuhrer FingerJune ??, 1997In the Spring of 1997 I made an attempt on this route. By that May I had already climbed Gibraltar Ledges on Rainier, recovered from a knee injury, and climbed Casaval Ridge on Mt. Shasta. I was feeling quite full of myself, and with bomber weather I figured this would be a cruise. What ended up happening was a great example of how this mountain can reach out and put the touch on anyone, any time, and that pride goeth before the fall. |
